Open Technology Index
An example of a typical index would be TX > Transportation > Ground > Vehicle for the Minicar Project. It is built via the Select Index hyperlink.
To browse or create a post (or project) under the Open Technology branch of the site, you must first create an index which is a combination of category, environment and function options. You start exactly as if you were browsing, by clicking on the Select Index hyperlink.
Select an index
The TX index concept is a simple method to narrow down the identification of topics and projects. Key word search is notorious for producing a multitude of listings, often not including the item of interest.
The TX index will zoom on the item of interest factoring out up to 800 alternate combinations of a certain set of keywords.
The index is built from small lists of Categories, Environment and Function of an item.
The Category defines fundamental systems in their broadest possible terms.
Agricultural Automation Commerce Communications Construction
Education Energy Finance Government Health Care
Manufacturing Mining Recreation Transportation
The Environment of an item is where it is supposed to normally operate.
Land Air Sea Space
The Function of an item defines its most generic purpose.
App/Tools Biological Drugs Equipment Food Fuel
Habitation Industrial Robotics Soft Goods Vehicle
