IMMUNITY FROM NATURAL HAZARDS

The objective of this TeknoX project is to model a nuclear power generation that will abate and, if possible, eliminate natural hazards affecting the safety of such facilities. The model will follow guidelines in accordance with my proposal.

The contributors will design concepts and digital models, collect data and formulate requirements in terms of operational scenarios similar to the Systems Data Book used in the Space Station program. The engineering may include analysis to substantiate the research. A summary will be presented in layman’s terms to support a referendum in our Political Forums.

Work Group
Besides the obvious need for engineers and technicians with 3D modeling and safety experience, some participants of this work group should exhibit knowledge of one of the following fields:
Submersed habitats;
Small submersibles vehicles;
Nuclear power reactors;
Hazardous waste control and disposal;
Control systems:
Automation;
Pressure vessels;
Software development.
Other skills are also necessary, such as design and production of graphite composites. Candidates interested in this project may point out the need for other skills.

Hello Humberto,

I received my BS in nuclear engineering (Georgia Institute of Technology) in 2008. I do not have real world experience in the industry, but would be interested in being part of such an undertaking describe here.

As an unofficial CV:
- Experience with modeling in Monte Carlo
- Involvement with safety measures and thermohydraulics in senior design
- Limited programming experience in FORTRAN and Ada
- Limited work in materials science and LAMMPS modeling of nuclear fuels

There is much work already done with the Integral Fast Reactor that may prove useful in a project with this objective. An insightful interview on the project with Dr. Charles Till can be found here: www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/r...interviews/till.html
