It is clear that electronic books (eBook, Kindle, etc.) simply emulating paper print is far too primitive of an idea, needed as an intermediate step to the new era of entertainment and education media which is about to bloom with Transmedia. Today’s publishing and marketing is like the DC-3 was for air transport. For the most part, self-publishers with electronic books or print on demand (POD) are vanity press enticing authors with manipulative advertising. Despite all that, some indie books delivered wonderful reading. However, the authors lack access to a cost effective marketing and automation regardless of the good intentions of Amazon and B&N.
Yet, the pressing need for an alternative to textbooks combined with my experience developing technology transfer tools and methods for complex systems persuaded me to start developing education media (tmED.) Thus, our initial objective is to substantially reduce the cost of education while delivering state-of-the-art contents implementing cognitive communication. Some of the tmED features:

• Multimedia composition allows graphics, color, music, and animation to interact with the reader while building a reference and information database unique to each reader.
• The reading platform is integrated with standard browsers via free download, thus compatible with any computer.

Join this project by posting a response and briefly stating your qualifications. Educators, scientists, authors, technicians, artists, and software developers are most welcomed. Students may join us via a College Workshop.

Through my years in school and six years of experience I have learned what it takes to achieve my goals. I am very much looking forward to this new chapter of my life with the intellectual challenges and the social opportunity that are open to me via TXgroup.
I believe in the Transmedia Press project; my graphic design skills and creativity will allow me to design beautiful book covers; other skills will support the team and the development of the TXgroup ideals.

I think Transmedia Press is a great idea. Although I'm not sure I have the experience and expertise to manage this project, I know that I can contribute to it greatly. I have experience with writing and editing, and I am familar with many aspects of publishing. I, too, would like to recruit a professional who has the expertise to see the project succeed. I'm making contacts and am actively engaging professionals in discussions regarding Transmedia Press. I'll continue to report updates in this forum.

I'm interested in publishing an omnibus edition of my 7 ebook transmedia series Punch as a single book to test the platform. It will make a good test subject because it's so packed with pictures and video elements that I had to break it into 7 parts to get it to fit on Barnes & Noble's PubIt! system. Since I wanted it to be the same across all host sites, the Amazon version and Smashwords version are the same (although with different cover art, since Amazon's Digital Text Platform and Smashwords support bigger cover art files than B & N's system.) TeknoX could have an exclusive 7-in-1 edition. If Tekno's Transmedia platform can support a 7-in-1 edition, then it is proven superior to the major ebook sales sites.

I am interested in working with Transmedia Press. I am a book cover artist and story illustrator and have been working in the publishing industry since 2003. I am currently working on a set of trading cards for a client. So I do other projects in addition to books and story art. I have even worked on concept art for games. Hope to be working with Transmedia soon.
